Fruit Harvester Vehicle
Isometric view of the complete solid model in SOLIDWORKS, including over 200 components.
This mechanical design and fabrication project was completed alongside four other group members as part of the MEC E 260 course.
The goal of the project was to create a custom-designed vehicle capable of knocking down, collecting, and delivering squash balls (fruit) to a storage area.
The completed vehicle consisted of over 200 components and made use of several mechanisms such helical and worm gear drive trains, and rachets. Many materials were used, including sheet metal, acrylic, brass rods, 3D-printed PLA, rubber hosing, and various off-the-shelf bolts, nuts, and bearings.
This project developed my solid modelling, manufacturing, and project management skills.
