Robotic Hand Camera Housing and Mounting System
Rendering of the most recent version of the HANDi Hand, wrist adapter, and camera.
As part of my work at the BLINC Lab during the summer of 2025, I developed a housing and mounting system for the OpenMV H7 camera that I added to the HANDi Hand.
This housing and mounting system was designed to fulfill the following requirements:
Securely connect the HANDi Hand and camera to rest of the PVC pipe “demo wand”.
Allow easy installation and removal of the camera.
Provide the camera with a useful vantage point.
Protect the circuit board while still allowing easy access to electrical connectors, and permitting ventilation.
I presented this work with a poster at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FoMD)’s 58th Annual Summer Students’ Research Day.

Below are two images of an earlier iteration of my housing and mounting system. I am improved on it after realizing that changing the camera circuit board orientation and using an extending ribbon cable could make the overall housing much slimmer.
