Robotic Hand Camera Housing and Mounting System

As part of my work at the BLINC Lab during the summer of 2025, I developed a housing and mounting system for the OpenMV H7 camera that I added to the HANDi Hand.

This housing and mounting system was designed to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Securely connect the HANDi Hand and camera to rest of the PVC pipe “test arm”.

  • Allow easy installation and removal of the camera.

  • Provide the camera with a useful vantage point.

  • Protect the camera circuit board while still having access to electrical connectors and some vent

I presented this work with a poster at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FoMD)’s 58th Annual Summer Students’ Research Day.

Below are two images of an earlier iteration of my housing and mounting system. I am improved on it after realizing that changing the camera circuit board orientation could make the overall housing much slimmer.
